- Moving on now to other business-related news,
- On September 15, representatives of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Australian Embassy, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), joined EnergyLab Asia for the Clean Energy Week 2026 Summit at the Raffles Hotel Le Royal. Held under the theme, “Clean Energy for Energy Security and Economic Resilience”, Clean Energy Week 2026 will run from September 15–21, with a focus on the vital role that clean energy can play in strengthening the country’s energy security and economic resilience. This year's theme reflects a pivotal moment for Cambodia. The clean energy transition is key to strengthening the reliability and affordability of Cambodia's energy supply, while building a more secure and self-reliant economy. Cambodia's big steps to ramp up clean energy will reduce the exposure of key economic sectors to global fuel price volatility, safeguarding the country's economic competitiveness, and unlocking new investment opportunities and quality jobs.
- Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation H.E. Hem Vanndy met with representatives of the Logistics and Supply Chain Business Association in Cambodia (LOSCBA) to discuss supply-chain resilience, local sourcing, shipment consolidation and the use of technology in the logistics sector. Minister Vanndy stressed the importance of developing professional services and reliable logistics systems to strengthen Cambodia’s competitiveness, alongside continued investment in infrastructure. He encouraged the association to use operational data from its members to identify supply-chain bottlenecks, sourcing risks and opportunities to reduce costs, while drawing on practical industry experience to support policymaking. The two sides also discussed the potential development of digital solutions to consolidate shipments from Cambodian SMEs and exporters, allowing smaller consignments to be grouped and transported more efficiently.
- Preah Sihanouk province has launched a five-year tourism development plan aimed at raising the quality and competitiveness of its tourism sector and strengthening its position as Cambodia’s second major urban centre. H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and Preah Sihanouk Governor, H.E. Mang Sineth, presided over the September 14 ceremony to launch implementation of the Preah Sihanouk Tourism Development Plan 2026-2030, the fifth target province covered by the Ministry of Tourism’s development planning initiative. The plan provides a joint roadmap for government institutions, local authorities, businesses and other stakeholders to develop tourism products and services and attract more national and international visitors. The government’s vision is to transform Preah Sihanouk into a high-quality, internationally competitive destination for both business and leisure tourism, supporting economic growth, innovation and sustainable urban development.
