Cambodia’s international trade totaled USD 23.38 billion in the first four months of 2026, an increase of 19.9 per cent from the USD 19.5 billion recorded during the same period in 2025, according to a report published by the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) on May 11, 2026.

Between January to April, Cambodia exported USD 11.12 billion worth of goods, marking a year-on-year increase of 23.7 per cent. Imports, on the other hand, rose by 18.3 per cent to USD 12.26 billion.

The United States, Vietnam, Japan, and China remained Cambodia’s leading export destinations.

H.E. Penn Sovicheat, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, said Cambodia’s expanding network of regional and bilateral trade agreements have contributed significantly to export growth.

“These regional and bilateral trade agreements have served as catalysts for long-term, sustainable export growth by providing preferential tariffs for Cambodian products,” he said.

Anthony Galliano, Group CEO of Cambodian Investment Management (CIM), said Cambodia’s export-driven economy has continued to show resilience amid a turbulent global environment.

“The strong growth in exports reflects the continued strength of Cambodia’s manufacturing sector, particularly garments, footwear and travel goods,” he said.

Galliano noted that Cambodia was also making progress in diversifying its industrial base through the expansion of electronics, electrical appliances, automotive parts and tyre manufacturing.

The Kingdom primarily exports garments, footwear, travel goods, electronic components, bicycles, tyres, and agricultural products, while importing raw materials for manufacturing, petroleum, vehicles, and electronics.
