Cambodia’s total international trade volume in 2025 reached more than USD 65.25 billion, marking an 18 per cent year-on-year increase, according to a report released by the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) on January 8, 2026.

The report summarises the main achievements made by the MoC in 2025, including official numbers on Cambodia's international trade. The Kingdom's exports rose to USD 31.28 billion in 2025, a 17 per cent increase from 2024.

Major export products included garments, machinery, electrical equipment, footwear, leather goods, grains, furniture, rubber, fruits, vegetables, pearls, toys, and textiles. The garment, footwear, and travel goods sector continued to be Cambodia's largest foreign exchange earner, accounting for approximately 50 per cent of the total export value.

Imports to Cambodia also rose by more than 18 per cent to USD 33.96 billion. China, the United States, and Vietnam remained Cambodia’s largest trading partners in 2025.

“These figures reflect the results of targeted measures implemented by the Royal Government of Cambodia to strengthen diversification in domestic production and international exports,” said H.E. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, at the opening ceremony of the MoC's annual meeting to review the past year's achievements and outline objectives for the year ahead, which took place on January 8, 2026.

She also highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to enhance and facilitate trade activities, including strengthening trade capacity and simplifying export procedures through digital ecosystems.

Streamlined Service Delivery: Rise in Trademark and Business Registrations, Licence and Permit Issuances

The MoC report also highlighted how public service delivery became more streamlined through the introduction of digitised and automated systems and the simplification and reduction of unnecessary procedures and documents, which led to a rise in permit issuances and registrations.

  • Trademark registration applications through national and international systems rose by 20.63 per cent, with 15,683 trademarks now registered in Cambodia.
  • Business registrations increased by 14.04 per cent
  • Issuance of permits and licences via electronic systems increased by 42.19 per cent

The number of annual reports filed and notifications issued also rose, with a concerted effort towards achieving greater efficiency and transparency of service delivery.

Promoting Domestic Trade and Local Products

The MoC engaged in various activities and programmes throughout 2025 to further stimulate domestic trade activities. Highlights include:

  • Signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 10 animal feed manufacturers to purchase set amounts of locally grown corn, cassava and rice bran to promote local agricultural products.
  • Facilitating the signing of 1,491 purchase-sale contracts for various agricultural products worth a total of USD 48.8 million, under the Accelerating Inclusive Markets for Smallholders (AIMS) Project.
  • Organising 468 weekend markets showcasing Khmer products and spotlighting small famers, under the AIMS Project.
  • Organising 631 consultations, workshops and training sessions with 133,142 participants to improve the efficiency of public service delivery and promote domestic consumption and export
  • Conducting 550 market surveys to identify 5.84 tonnes of non-compliant goods, strengthening consumer protection and competition.

The MoC also authorised 35 exhibitions in Phnom Penh and the provinces in 2025, including its flagship Cambodia Trade Expo (18th edition) and Cambodia Digital Trade Forum (2nd edition). These exhibitions garnered the participation of 1,803 enterprises and gathered a total of 503,136 visitors, with the main goal of promoting trade and investment activities, and showcasing Cambodian products.

The report adds that Cambodian products are currently being sold in over 20,000 locations worldwide, under the coordination of the MoC, at both large supermarkets and well-known mini marts in countries such as Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the United States and across Europe.

Through the establishment of the Export Service Centre, the MoC provided technical support to companies with export potential, in collaboration with the EU-German GATE project. A pilot trade mission was organised to host a Cambodian pavilion at Anuga Food Fair 2025 (the largest food exhibition in the world) for the first time, allowing local companies to receive orders and successfully export products to the German market. The MoC and EU-German GATE project also jointly organised the Cambodia Cashew and Pepper Trade Forum 2025.
