  • Moving on now to other business related news,
    • Cambodia will host the 12th Sea Festival (Round 4) from December 18 to 20, in Preah Sihanouk province, under the theme “The Value of the Sea: Blue Economy Linked to the Sustainability and Biodiversity of Cambodia’s Coastal Zone” according to an announcement from the Ministry of Tourism. The three-day national event will be presided over by Prime Minister Hun Manet and First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet. Organised by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration, line ministries, and private sector partners, the festival aims to highlight the tourism potential of Cambodia’s coastal regions, foster sustainable marine conservation, elevate service quality across the hospitality sector, and promote authentic Khmer products. High-level dignitaries expected to attend include leaders and members of the Senate, the National Assembly, and the Royal Government, alongside delegates from the Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club, foreign diplomatic missions, capital and provincial administrations, development partners, tourism associations, tour operators, and content creators.
    • Cambodia and Singapore have pledged to deepen bilateral agricultural cooperation and expand trade, focusing on boosting Cambodian rice exports and introducing high-potential agribusiness commodities into the Singaporean market. The commitment follows a high-level bilateral meeting on October 29 in Singapore between H.E. Dith Tina, Cambodia’s Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and H.E. Grace Fu, Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment. During the discussion, both ministers explored strategies to broaden trade channels and unlock new commercial pathways for Cambodian agricultural goods. Key commodities highlighted for expansion include cashew nuts, mangoes, bananas, durians, pepper, fresh vegetables, and livestock products.
    • Cambodia is finalising preparations for the Francophonie Village at Wat Botum Vatey Park in Phnom Penh, setting the stage for an extensive showcase of culture, tourism, business, and gastronomy from November 13 to 17. H.E. Dr. Chuk Chumnor, Director General of Tourism Development and International Cooperation and Manager of the Village, detailed the progress during an interview on October 28. He confirmed that venue infrastructure, security arrangements, and event logistics are moving forward seamlessly to deliver a seamless experience for all attendees. Working groups across all departments remain fully engaged to complete setup well ahead of the opening, ensuring a high-standard reception for international delegations, diplomatic guests, and the general public. The village will feature dedicated pavilions representing member states of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), alongside interactive exhibition booths highlighting regional trade, investment potential, traditional handicrafts, and heritage products. Guests can also look forward to a curated culinary experience featuring authentic Khmer dishes and distinct Francophone gastronomy, as well as daily multi-cultural artistic performances on the central stage.
