    • The Ministry of Tourism and Hiroshima University of Economics of Japan have discussed transforming the university’s annual study tour to Cambodia into a new and value-added tourism product to promote people-to-people and student exchanges, local tourism destinations, and community development. The discussion took place during a meeting between the Cambodian Minister of Tourism, and the Project Leader and representative of Hiroshima University of Economics, at the Ministry of Tourism on September 10. The Cambodian minister expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the delegation from Hiroshima University of Economics for their continued support through the Cambodia International Exchange Programme and community development initiatives in Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, Battambang and Prey Veng. The initiatives have contributed to people-to-people exchanges, mutual understanding among youth and students of the two countries, human resource development, and awareness of health and sanitation. The Minister encouraged ACBC to serve as a bridge between U.S. market demand and Cambodian producers by identifying buyers, aggregating demand and providing clearer information on specifications, standards and order volumes. He said firm buyer commitments would also give Cambodian manufacturers greater confidence to expand production capacity. ACBC said it was ready to work with MISTI to help Cambodian manufacturers better understand U.S. market-entry requirements through technical briefings, workshops and engagement with relevant U.S. agencies and experts.
