Registration Opens for Francophonie Economic Mission From October 6–8 in East Africa
Following six successful editions organised in various Francophone regions, the International Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF) is continuing its commitment to an ambitious and inclusive Francophone economy by organising, in collaboration with the Djiboutian authorities, a new Francophonie Economic Mission from October 6–8, 2026, in Djibouti.
This initiative reflects the desire to strengthen trade between member states and governments, and to contribute to the development of joint projects and sustainable partnerships among Francophone economic actors in sectors with high potential for transformation and job creation, particularly for young people and women.
This year, the OIF is offering Francophone companies seeking international growth the opportunity to develop and solidify business partnerships in Djibouti—a hub for major international shipping routes connecting Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, and a gateway to the regional markets of East Africa, which is home to 600 million people.
The economic mission will focus on five sectors that the Government of Djibouti prioritises in its national development strategy: transport and logistics related to free trade zones, digital services, renewable energy, health, and sustainable tourism.
Participating companies will benefit from a customised program that will include targeted meetings with public and private decision-makers, expertly prepared B2B sessions, and visits to strategic sites.
Any company originating from a member state or government, associate member, or observer of the OIF, with international experience and experience operating in one or more of the five targeted sectors, can submit an application to join the mission until April 17, 2026, at the following website: https://missions-economiques.djibouti.francophonie.org/fr
