On March 18, 2026, Metfone and Air Cambodia officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly deploy comprehensive air cargo and logistics solutions. The signing marks a significant milestone in leveraging the synergy between telecommunications infrastructure and aviation transport capabilities, aiming to strengthen supply chains and enhance the competitiveness of the Kingdom of Cambodia’s economy.

Under the agreement, the two parties will establish a strategic partnership for both domestic and international cargo transportation. Metfone Express, a new service of Metfone, will take the lead in first-mile collection, processing, and last-mile delivery through its extensive network of post offices covering all 25 provinces and cities nationwide. Meanwhile, Air Cambodia will serve as the primary air carrier, operating key routes from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and major international gateways such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

A key highlight of this collaboration is the integration of advanced information technology systems into logistics operations. Both parties have agreed to synchronise data systems, enabling real-time shipment tracking, streamlining airport and warehouse procedures, and significantly reducing delivery times while ensuring the highest level of safety for a wide range of goods—from e-commerce parcels to specialised electronic equipment.

Speaking at the ceremony, a representative of Metfone’s leadership emphasised that, with nearly 20 years of presence and development in Cambodia, the company remains committed to delivering sustainable and meaningful value to the community. The partnership with Air Cambodia reflects a concrete step toward unlocking the “lifeblood” of national logistics, bridging the gap between rural and urban areas. By digitalising and professionalising transport processes, Metfone aims to empower local businesses and farmers to access markets more efficiently and cost-effectively, thereby contributing directly to the Kingdom’s prosperity.

A representative of Air Cambodia noted that partnering with Cambodia’s leading telecommunications operator will enable the airline to optimise its infrastructure and elevate service quality. This collaboration is expected to set new benchmarks for specialised transport services, contributing positively to the country’s digital transformation and sustainable economic growth.

Beyond business opportunities for both parties, the signing is also anticipated to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs in logistics and trade sectors. The modernisation of transport infrastructure will facilitate commerce, boost exports, and reinforce Cambodia’s position as a dynamic link in the regional supply chain—ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital era.
