cellcard, a 100 per cent Khmer-owned company and Cambodia’s largest public-listed digital telecommunications operator listed on the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX), proudly believes in and stands firmly behind the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet and the Royal Government of Cambodia, as the company works together to build the nation, strengthen resilience, and realise Cambodia’s vision of becoming an independent digital telecommunications nation.

Since its inception in 1996, CamGSM PLC, commercially known as cellcard, has invested close to USD 5.5 billion in Cambodia’s ICT infrastructure over the past three decades. These investments includes:

  1. USD 1.1 billion in capital expenditure (CAPEX)
  2. USD 0.7 billion in regulatory contributions

These investments underscore cellcard’s long-term commitment to national development, creating jobs, attracting investment, and expanding connectivity for all Cambodians.

In 2026, as the Royal Government accelerates its digital transformation agenda through initiatives such as nationwide digital infrastructure expansion, inclusive connectivity, and the implementation of the Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework, cellcard remains fully aligned with and supportive of these national priorities.

cellcard expands 5G in Siem Reap to power Cambodia’s digital growth

Building on this strong foundation, cellcard announced the launch of its 5G network in Siem Reap on April 21, 2026, making it the third city after Phnom Penh and Takhmao to go live with 5G, marking another major milestone in Cambodia’s digital transformation.

The launch was commemorated with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with the Governor of Siem Reap, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing digital infrastructure, smart city development, and innovation in one of Cambodia’s most important economic and cultural hubs.

As a globally renowned tourism destination, Siem Reap is entering a new era of connectivity. With 5G, residents, businesses, and visitors will benefit from ultra-fast speeds, low latency, and the ability to power next-generation digital services – from immersive tourism experiences to smart enterprise solutions.

5G is more than just faster connectivity; it is a foundational technology that will unlock new opportunities across tourism, education, commerce, and public services.

Neak Oknha Kith Meng, Chairman of cellcard, said:

Our continued investment reflects our strong confidence in Cambodia’s future. Together with our partners, we are building a robust digital foundation that supports sustainable growth, attracts investment, and improves the lives of all Cambodians.

Yap Kok Leong, Chief Executive Officer of cellcard, added:

The launch of 5G in Siem Reap represents a significant step towards a truly connected Cambodia. Through our partnership with provincial leadership, we are enabling new digital opportunities that will drive economic growth, enhance tourism, and empower local communities.

cellcard will continue expanding its 5G footprint across key provinces where it matters most – supporting Cambodia’s vision of a modern, inclusive, and digitally driven economy, and transforming how people live, work, learn, and play.

Welcome to the 5G nation, powered by cellcard.
