Hong Kong Delegation To Visit Cambodia In July 2024 To Explore Economic Opportunities
Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Visit to Cambodia

A Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) organised delegation, which will be led by Mr John Lee (Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region), is visiting the Cambodian capital from 30-31 July 2024 and will feature a business event on 31 July 2024.

Hong Kong is an international finance, trade, investment and cultural exchange hub and is seeking to build upon the close relationship between mainland China and Cambodia by providing opportunities for Cambodian businesses to reach the mainland market. The visit to Cambodia builds on the success of previous ASEAN missions to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in 2023 and Thailand in 2022.

The visiting delegation will include Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government principal officials, as well as more than two dozen international, Chinese, and Hong Kong enterprise and conglomerate business leaders from the fields of finance and insurance; innovation and technology; professional services; infrastructure, transport and logistics; energy and hospitality.

The delegation will meet with local business leaders and corporations to explore business opportunities and attend a lunch event with members of the Cambodian business community and local chambers of commerce on 31 July 2024.

Dr Peter K N Lam, HKTDC Chairman, said, “Our aim with this visit is to strengthen the bond between Cambodia and Hong Kong, and in doing so expand the economic ties between Hong Kong and the ASEAN region. As this year marks the ASEAN-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges, this mission carries extra significance. Since its establishment in 1966, the HKTDC has prioritised building connections between Hong Kong and the world through business and trade. That includes Cambodia, where we seek to strengthen trade and investment relationships with the goal of fostering mutual prosperity and economic development.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is a statutory body established in 1966 to promote, assist and develop Hong Kong's trade and currently has 50 offices globally, including 13 in mainland China. The HKTDC "organises international exhibitions, conferences and business missions to create business opportunities for companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in the mainland and international markets.
