The General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia (GDCE) has announced significant reductions in customs duties and export taxes for specific goods, primarily focusing on electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy components, and certain exports.

The Cambodian government issued Sub-Decree No. 52, dated March 26, 2026, regarding the adjustment of customs duty rates and export tax rates on certain goods as follows:

  • Customs Duty for goods including EV charging equipment, solar panels, and solar inverters has been reduced from 7 per cent to 0 per cent
  • Customs Duty for goods including electric vehicle motors, solar energy systems, lithium batteries (lithium-ion, aircraft batteries, vehicle batteries, solar batteries, and energy storage devices such as power banks and power stations), electric stoves, electric kettles, and passenger/freight vehicles (types HEV, PHEV, and EV) have been reduced from 15 per cent to 0 per cent
  • Customs Duty for family-type PHEV vehicles have been reduced from 35 per cent to 7 per cent
  • Customs Duty for electric stoves, induction cookers, and family-type EV vehicles have been reduced from 35 per cent to 0 per cent
  • Export Tax for bauxite (aluminum ore) has been reduced from 25 per cent to 10 per cent

According to the announcement, these adjusted customs duties and export tax rates will be effective from April 1, 2026, onwards. Stakeholders or the public can download the Sub-Decree via the QR Code attached to this letter.
