The Canadian International School of Phnom Penh (CIS) has joined the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS), further expanding the opportunities available to its students and teachers.

CIS became a member in September 2026, continuing its commitment to providing high-quality academic programmes. The membership gives CIS access to a wider network of academic resources and professionals, grants and scholarships, and universities around the world.

“Joining EARCOS is a great step forward for CIS as we continue to reinforce the diverse opportunities available to our students and staff,” said Daun Yorke, CIS Head of School. “We are already building stronger relationships with top universities and connecting our teachers with peers and experts across East and Southeast Asia. We believe these opportunities will have meaningful outcomes for our students' learning, well-being and development, while contributing to the growth of international education in Cambodia."

Founded in 1958, EARCOS is a non-profit organisation focusing on innovation and excellence in international education. Its network currently includes 245 member schools across 22 countries in Asia, representing approximately 200,000 students. Joining this expansive international community complements CIS’s existing accreditations and memberships, including Alberta Education in Canada, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organisation, the Council of International Schools, and LabelFrancÉducation.

Serving students from Nursery through Grade 12, CIS offers a comprehensive education through the Alberta curriculum, IB Primary Years Programme, and IB Diploma Programme, complemented by a broad range of extracurricular activities. Together, its diverse accreditations, certifications, and memberships provide students and families with access to multiple pathways to pursue their individual goals and interests.

For families exploring international schools in Cambodia, EARCOS membership is one part of the broader network of accreditations and partnerships that shape a school community and guide students as they progress from the early years through university preparation.
