In 2025, bilateral trade between Cambodia and China reached USD 19.73 billion, marking a 29.9 per cent increase from the USD 15.18 billion recorded in 2024, according to data released by the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE).
China makes up around 30 per cent of the Kingdom's total international trade volume, which was over USD 65 billion in 2025.
The GDCE report revealed that Cambodia’s exports to China actually inched down slightly to around USD 1.68 billion, from the USD 1.7 billion recorded in 2024. However, imports from China rose by 34.3 per cent to more than USD 18.04 billion.
According to the Ministry of Commerce (MoC), Cambodia’s main traded goods in 2025 included garments, footwear, travel goods, bags, rice, tyres, cashew nuts, electronic devices and components, cassava, bicycles, and wires.
H.E. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, also confirmed that China remained Cambodia’s largest trading partner in 2025—followed by the United States and Vietnam—during the MoC's annual meeting to review the past year's achievements and outline objectives for the year ahead, on January 8, 2026.
She added that the Cambodian government has continued to pursue market diversification and trade facilitation measures, noting that Cambodian products were exported to 169 countries in 2025, up from 164 countries in 2024.
Expanding export destinations and improving competitiveness remain key priorities as Cambodia seeks to strengthen its trade resilience and reduce over-dependence on a small number of major markets.
