Cambodia and Japan Seek to Boost Agro-Processing Exports
A delegation of Japanese investors met with officials from the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce (MoC) seeking to strengthen cooperation and promote bilateral trade between the two countries.
According to an MoC statement, H.E. Lim Lork Piseth, Secretary of State, met with the Japanese delegation, led by Kohei Wakabayashi, Chief Representative of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), on March 10, 2026.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and promoting bilateral trade between Cambodia and Japan. During the meeting, both parties discussed ongoing cooperation between the Cambodian MoC and JETRO, noting opportunities to further enhance bilateral trade and investment, particularly in the industrial sector and agro-processing, in order to boost the export of Cambodian products to the Japanese market.
Wakabayashi especially emphasised the importance of trade facilitation, and expressed his appreciation for the support provided by Cambodian ministries and institutions to Japanese businesses and investors operating in the country.
