Alliance Laundry Systems (ALS), a Wisconsin-based provider of commercial laundry equipment, is introducing Stax-X in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Stax-X is a stacked washer dryer solution designed for first time business owners, SME entrepreneurs and compact-format laundry operators looking to enter or expand in the self-service laundry sector.

Designed to support efficient use of limited retail space, Stax‑X combines commercial-grade washing and drying capability in a vertically stacked configuration, offered under ALS brands including Speed Queen, Huebsch, IPSO and Primus. The machine can be configured with ALS management features such as programmable cycles, upsell features and flexible pricing tools intended to support day-to-day operations.

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a significant role in Southeast Asia’s economy. According to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Southeast Asia Development Solutions (SEADS) (2022), there are over 71 million MSMEs in Southeast Asia, accounting for about 97 per cent of all businesses and employing around 67 per cent of the working population.

Separately, the World Economic Forum (2023) has highlighted continued growth in Southeast Asia’s digital economy.

As more entrepreneurs look for lean-operating business models in the service and retail segments, self-service laundromat formats continue to attract interest due to operational considerations such as low staffing requirements and repeat-use customer behavior.

Stax-X is available in two capacity variants, 13KG and 23KG, both engineered for durability and designed to support serviceability and reduced maintenance interruptions. Key features include:

  • Redesigned to support efficient use of space, with a modern and professional design suitable for laundromat environments.
  • Modern design flush-mounted soap dispenser designed to support a sleek, streamlined appearance.
  • Minimised front fasteners provide quick access to key washer-extractor components intended to support serviceability and ease of access.
  • Designed to support convenient load transfer within a stacked configuration, which may reduce the need to move loads across the store (depending on store layout).

Stax‑X is available through ALS’ authorised distributor network in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Pricing and availability may vary by market and authorised distributor and are subject to local taxes, duties and installation requirements.
