This is a B2B Cambodia Market Update for 7 June 2024, reviewing the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) and global markets.

- The Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) Index was down 0.35 points or 0.09 per cent to 408.55
- The index has now been down for eight straight sessions.
- Total trade volume was higher than yesterday, but still light, with 128,310 shares changing hands at a total trading value of around 645.9 million riel or over 157,500 US dollars
- On the Main Board, the biggest percentage gain winner was MJQ Education, up 0.49 per cent or 10 riel to 2,050 riel per share, followed by the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port, which was up 0.30 per cent or 40 riel to 13,280 riel per share.
- The only other stock to see a percentage rise was ACLEDA Bank.
- On the other hand, the biggest loser of the day was the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, down 1.77 per cent or 220 riel to 12,200 riel per share. Other stocks to see percentage drops were Pestech Cambodia and the Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority.
- In terms of trade volume, ACLEDA Bank was the market leader once again with 52,972 shares changing hands at a total value of around 97,000 US dollars, accounting for roughly 39 per cent of all shares trades. MJQ Education followed in second place with 45,441 shares changing hands at a trade value of roughly 22,677 US dollars, making up around 33 per cent of the day’s market.
- On the growth board JS Land saw a 0.51 per cent drop while DBD Engineering remained flat.
- The Khmer riel to USD continued to weaken to 4,107 riel per US dollar, while the US dollar hovered around 104.03
- Oil steadied on Friday as OPEC+ members Saudi Arabia and Russia indicated readiness to pause or reverse oil output increases, but crude was still headed for its third straight weekly loss on demand concerns.
- Brent crude futures were down 11 cents, or 0.1 per cent, to 79.76 US Dollars a barrel.
- Spot gold traded steady at 2,376.55 US dollars an ounce.
- U.S. stock futures opened little changed on Friday as investors geared up for Friday morning’s nonfarm payrolls report.
- Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average inched higher by 67 points, or 0.18 per cent. Nasdaq 100 futures ticked up by 0.17 per cent, while S&P 500 futures were up 0.13 per cent
