  • We start with a quick look at regional markets. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 surged 2.2%. Shares also rose in China. 
  • Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 0.5%, while the Shanghai Composite added 0.6%. 
  • South Korea's Kospi surged 2.1%, as the benchmark continued to benefit from the global demand for computer chips. 
  • In Taiwan, the Taiex jumped 2.1%.
     
  • Zooming in on Cambodia’s market—the Cambodia Securities Exchange Index was down 0.32 points or 0.08%, to 425.83. 
  • Total trade volume was up with 93,403 shares changing hands at a total value of 505.5 million riel, or over $126,000 US dollars.
  • On the main board, two stocks were up, led by Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority, while two stocks were down, with MJQ Education as the biggest loser of the day. 
  • Over on the growth board, DBD Engineering and Picasso City Garden stayed flat, while JS Land was down.
     
  • Shifting to the exchange rate, the KHR strengthened slightly to 4,016 riel per US Dollar, while the US Dollar Index hovered around 97.85.
     
  • Turning to global commodities, oil prices edged higher on Wednesday, as investors weighed the threat of military conflict between the U.S. and Iran that could disrupt supply and a big build in U.S. crude inventories. 
  • Brent futures were up 6 cents at $70.83 US dollars per barrel. 
  • West Taxes Intermediate crude futures rose 4 cents to $65.67 US dollars per barrel. (0957 GMT)
     
  • Gold prices rose, lifted by a softer dollar and heightened safe-haven demand amid uncertainty over U.S. tariffs and rising friction between Washington and Tehran. 
  • Spot gold rose 0.8% to $5,190.99 US dollars per ounce. 
  • U.S. gold futures for April delivery were up 0.7% at $5,210.40 US dollars. (0841 GMT)
     
  • Looking at the crypto market, Bitcoin, the industry’s primary bellwether, climbed 5.5% to hit an intraday peak of $66,233 US dollars before consolidating near $65,000 US dollars.
     
  • Moving on now to other business-related news:
    • The Ministry of Commerce will organise the “19th Cambodian Products, Fruits and Vegetables Exhibition” at the Siem Reap River public exercise area from February 26 to March 1. Themed “Promote and Support National Products,” the event will provide a platform for farmers and entrepreneurs to showcase goods and forge new business collaborations.
    • Cambodia’s industrial sector saw significant expansion in 2025, with the number of operational large-scale factories reaching 3,083 and providing jobs for over 1.26 million people, the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation reported on February 24. Speaking at the ministry's annual review, H.E. Hem Vanndy highlighted that women comprise more than 71 per cent of the industrial workforce. The figures underscore the sector’s resilience as a primary engine for Cambodia’s economy.
    • The Ministry of Public Works and Transport released its 2025 Annual Progress Report on the Implementation of the Comprehensive Master Plan for the Cambodian Intermodal Transport and Logistics System 2023-2033, outlining the progress of railway development projects. The report, released on February 24, stated that Cambodia needs an investment of approximately $10 billion US dollars to develop a total of eight railway transport projects.
