  • We start with a quick look at regional markets. In Asia, MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares eased 0.5%, on course for a 1.5% decline for the week. 
  • Japan’s Nikkei fell 1.3%, while tech-heavy South Korean stocks slid nearly 2% and Taiwan equities fell 1%. 
     
  • Zooming in on Cambodia’s market—the Cambodia Securities Exchange Index was up 1.64 points or 0.38%, to 430.32. 
  • Total trade volume was up with 38,454 shares changing hands at a total value of 167.1 million riel, or close to $42,000 US dollars.
  • On the main board, three stocks were up, led by CAMGSM, while the rest of the main board stayed flat. 
  • Over on the growth board, DBD Engineering was up, while JS Land and Picasso City Garden were down.
     
  • Shifting to the exchange rate, the KHR strengthened slightly to 4,013 riel per US Dollar, while the US Dollar Index hovered around 100.17.
     
  • Turning to global commodities, Brent futures were 0.7% higher, pulling back from earlier gains to trade at $101.15 US dollars a barrel. 
  • U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures were up by 0.1% at $95.87 US dollars per barrel, also paring earlier rises. (0940 GMT)
     
  • Gold was on track for a second straight weekly loss, even as ‌it edged higher on Friday. 
  • Spot gold was up ​0.2% at $5,087.61 US dollars per ounce. 
  • U.S. gold futures for April delivery fell 0.16% ⁠to $5,092.60 US dollars. (0927 GMT)
     
  • Looking at the crypto market, Bitcoin rose above $71,500 on Friday, outperforming U.S. equities even as the dollar strengthened and oil prices remained elevated as the war with Iran was set to enter its third week.
     
  • Moving on now to other business-related news:
    • A delegation of Japanese investors met with officials from the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce (MoC) seeking to strengthen cooperation and promote bilateral trade between the two countries. According to an MoC statement, H.E. Lim Lork Piseth, Secretary of State, met with the Japanese delegation, led by Kohei Wakabayashi, Chief Representative of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), on March 10, 2026.
    • SchneiTec Group, a renewable energy developer, announced the launch of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project on March 13, 2026, marking a significant achievement in Cambodia's energy sector. With a total storage capacity of 1,000 megawatt hours, the launch marks the first and largest project of its kind in the Kingdom.
    • Cambodia and the Republic of Korea have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening investment cooperation, leveraging Korean advanced expertise in technology and trade. The commitment was made in a meeting held here on March 12 between the First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia.
